J-Dee Gets Lenched But Ice Cube Remains As Cold As Ice

Da Lench Mob. Da Lench Mob was a West Coast hip hop group associated with Ice Cube. The group consisted of rappers J-Dee, Shorty, T-Bone and Maulkie.

Da Lench Mob made their debut on Ice Cube's first solo album, AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted. With Ice Cube as their executive producer, Da Lench Mob released their debut album Guerrillas in the Mist, in 1992. In 1993, J-Dee was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for murder and was dropped by Lench Mob Records which was founded and is still run by rapper Ice Cube. J-Dee has always maintained his innocence and still does till this day after being in prison for the last 17 years.

I learned of J-Dee's plight from a good friend, my comrade Street Poet
Monte Smith. I was taken aback by his story seeing I looked up to rapper/actor Ice Cube. I just couldn't believe that Ice Cube would leave a brotha hanging in such way. I almost immediately reached out to J-Dee personally and sure enough, he responded.

Given J-Dee's background I can't say I was surprised that after 17 years locked in a cage, he still is filled with fight. Some may have taken his letter as sounding a bit desperate but then again, who wouldn't be. My mind was flooded with questions such as why is this one time hip hop icon still in prison. I don't know about anyone else but this injustice has me up at arms. One needs to think that if this can happen to a platinum status artist, it can surly happen to anyone. Believe me, the only thing that makes J-Dee's case unique is the fact that he was once a world famous rap artist. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of poor young men and women in the same situation, with a strong claim of innocence, but no means to prove it.

It's a sad story if you ask me. An artist that in truth helped rapper Ice Cube acquire his wealth in the beginning is now an indigent prisoner serving life in prison. I have heard J-Dee's pleas and I am hoping that others too will hear his pleas.

J-Dee is in desperate need of a good legal defense. He has reached out to the Innocence Project out of The Western California School of Law for help but has received no reply. He asked that people petition the Innocence Project to help an innocent man who has been in prison for 17 years.

Those looking to get involved and helping J-Dee can start by contacting the Innocence Project in California. I have done so but the more people contacting them on J-Dee's behalf, the better chance we have of action being taken.

LatinaBeatz
Today's recommendation is for LatinaBeatz.com because LatinaBeatz, a popular lady among the AIM members, is one of the most professional and creative hip-hop promoters and publicists in the business. Thus we urge all of our own raptivists and other emcees that frequent our site to hit her up her if they want some extra promotion. Her prices are very fair and she is a strong, ethical and honest young women with a real talent for what she does. She has promoted a few of our own boys, not to mention ill underground rappers like Immortal Technique and Sick Jacken. She is also a gay rights and animal rights activist with a strong sense of personal integrity and ethics. Big up LatinaBeatz. Go peep her super sick site and show some love.
