Shahla Jahed was executed today in Evin prison by the Islamic Republic of Iran. She was found guilty in 2002 of the murder of the primary wife of her footballer husband based what is widely believed to have been a forced confession which she later retracted.
Shahla was hanged this morning at 5am in the presence of the victim's family who declined to save her life by pardoning her.
